The price index of the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotation System for over-the-counter trading. The index is market-value-weighted. There are six indexes covering different sectors of the market, all of which were based on 5 February 1971. Two newer indexes are the NASDAQ-100 and the NASDAQ-Financial, operating from 1 February 1985, valued at 250.
