释义 | Financial Services Authority = FSA The financial services regulatory body in the UK. Formed in 1997, this independent body was charged with four statutory duties under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000: to maintain market confidence; to ensure a satisfactory level of customer protection; to reduce financial crime; and to increase public knowledge of the finance system. In the early 2000s, the FSA was criticized for its failure to intervene on behalf of small investors who were missold financial services, notably pensions and endowment mortgages. |
