释义 | salvage salvage1. Goods, property, etc., saved from a shipwreck or from a fire. If a cargo is treated as a total loss for insurance purposes, there still may be salvageable items that have a salvage value; these may be sold by the insurers or allowed for in the settlement of their claim. salvage value(scrap value) The net realizable value of an asset at the end of its useful life, when it is no longer suitable for its original use. Fixed assets, stock, or waste arising from a production process can all have a salvage value. sample1. A small quantity of a commodity, etc., selected to represent the bulk of a quantity of goods. Seesale by sample. sampling error Any difference between the true parameters of a population and a conclusion about these parameters based on a sample of the population. Sampling errors are of two kinds. The first, which is inevitable, arises from the laws of statistics and probability, which enable a margin of error to be calculated.
