| 释义 | marginal utility The addition to an individual's utility from a small increase in consumption of any good, per unit of the increase. It is usually assumed that, at least beyond a certain point, the marginal utility of any particular good decreases as more is consumed. This is a psychological generalization and not a logical requirement. The marginal utility of any good may also depend on the amounts of other goods consumed. Actually measuring marginal utility is impossible, just as it is impossible to measure the absolute level of utility. |
