This mainly concerns pay, hours and conditions of work, fringe benefits, security of employment, redundancy and redundancy payments, and disciplinary and grievance procedures. Many of these matters are affected by legislation, but the law may leave scope for disagreement, and in various ways the treatment received by employees may be more generous than is legally compulsory. Disputes in industrial relations may be resolved by negotiation, arbitration, or industrial action by either side. |
