单词 | firm-specific human capital |
释义 | firm-specific human capital Specialized skills, experience, or qualifications which are of value only to one specific employer. Skills may be firm-specific because the equipment the firm operates is unique, or because, while the skills are in principle industry-specific, the firm is a monopolist in the industry. Because the holder of firm-specific skills is faced with a monopsonist employer, acquisition of such skills is not particularly attractive to workers; the employer will probably have to pay for any necessary training. |
