| 释义 | minimum efficient scale The minimum level of any activity at which all known economies of scale can be enjoyed. In some cases there is no finite level of output at which further cost savings cease: this is the case, for example, when marginal cost is constant and fixed costs can be spread over an ever larger output. In such cases it is convenient to define the minimum efficient scale as the level of output beyond which further increases in scale give cost savings below some minimum level. For example, this could be defined as a level of output where further doubling would reduce average cost by under 1 per cent. |
