单词 | single-peaked preferences |
释义 | single-peaked preferences An assumption about the pattern of individual preferences. This is that where any characteristic of a good or situation can be described by a numerical index, any individual has a unique most-preferred level of the index, and the valuation put on the good declines monotonically as the index departs from the preferred value in either direction. This means that any individual asked to choose or vote will always prefer the most-valued level to any other, and of any two alternatives on the same side of the most preferred value, will vote for that nearer the preferred value. |
