These include climatic change due to excessive usage of fossil fuels, deforestation, erosion, extinction of plant and animal species and loss of biodiversity, and health problems due to air and water pollution, radiation, and excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides. There are serious doubts as to whether economic growth at present and prospective rates is sustainable, or whether it is leading the world towards massive catastrophe.
