This applies particularly to sectors where developing countries have a comparative advantage. Agriculture, textiles and clothing, iron and steel, and basic chemicals fall in this category. Sensitive sectors in advanced economies have lobbied, usually successfully, for exemption from general trade liberalization measures. |
