单词 | Tokyo Stock Exchange |
释义 | Tokyo Stock Exchange = TSE The largest and most important of the eight stock exchanges in Japan, accounting for some 85% of the turnover in Japanese securities. The market is split into three sections. The first section lists some 1200 of the largest issues in the market. Around 70% of first-section companies are also listed in the markets in Osaka and Nagoya. The second section has around 400 stocks, with less stringent listing requirements, similar to the Alternative Investment Market in the UK. Foreign shares are traded on the third section of the market. The TSE also has an over-the-counter market in shares registered with the Japanese Securities Dealers Association. A computerized trading system for over-the-counter stocks was established in late 1991. TSE members are either regulars, who deal in securities as principals, or agents (saitori), who can only act as intermediaries between regular members. Dealing is now mainly electronic through the Computerized Order Routing and Execution System (CORES), although about 150 first-section stocks are still traded by open outcry on the exchange floor. The main market indicator is the Nikkei Stock Average of 225 Japanese industrial companies. |
