单词 | third market |
释义 | third market A market established by the London Stock Exchange in January 1987 for the trading of shares unsuited either to the main market or the Unlisted Securities Market (USM). The market was abolished on 31 December 1990 and combined with a reorganized USM. It had the object of specifying less stringent listing standards than either the main or unlisted markets, in order to attract the formerly unregulated over-the-counter market, which was outside the jurisdiction of the London Stock Exchange. Investment in the third market was generally much more risky, because much less information was available on the companies. |
