band band1. A trading range, set by upper and lower limits, of a commodity or currency. For example, the ERM II (seeEuropean Economic and Monetary Union) now sets a band against a central rate of conversion to the euro of ± 15%. banded pack A special offer of goods in which two or more related (or sometimes unrelated) items are bound together to form a single pack. This pack is offered at a lower price than the combined price of the individual items. Banded packs are sometimes offered with the slogan ‘buy one, get one free’. Seeprice-bundling strategy. |
