Chicago Mercantile Exchange(CME) The prime US futures and options market. It was started in 1919 as a commodity futures market but in 1972 opened the International Monetary Market, the world’s first market for financial futures. CME became a public listed company in 2002 and acquired the Chicago Board of Trade in 2007 and the New York Mercantile Exchange in 2008.
