North Sea Brent Crude A type of oil that is sourced from the North Sea. This type of oil is used as a benchmark to price European, African and Middle Eastern oil that is exported to the West. Investopedia Says: North Sea brent crude was discovered in the early 1960s. It is now sourced primarily by the United Kingdom, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands and Germany.
