| 释义 | monotonic function A function where, as the value of the argument rises, the value of the function always changes in the same direction. Thus if y = f(x), either dy/dx > 0 for all x, in which case y is an increasing function of x, or dy/dx < 0 for all x, in which case y is a decreasing function of x. With a monotonic function there is no value of x for which dy/dx = 0, so that there is no maximum or minimum for y. |
