单词 | inelastic demand |
释义 | inelastic demand Weak response of quantity demanded to price, so that a proportional fall in price produces a smaller proportional increase in quantity demanded. Total revenue thus falls when quantity increases, and marginal revenue is negative. Such a price will not be chosen by a profit-maximizing firm, but can occur as the equilibrium in a competitive industry. |
