单词 | Individual Savings Account |
释义 | Individual Savings Account = (ISA) A UK scheme designed to encourage savings, by allowing individuals to invest a limited sum annually in assets which are not subject to income tax or capital gains tax. This replaced the Personal Equity Plan scheme in 1999. The permitted limits can vary annually; in 2000-2001 they were either a ‘mini ISA’ of up to £3,000 in stocks and shares, a ‘mini cash ISA’ of up to £3,000 in securities such as building society deposits, and a ‘mini insurance ISA’ of up to £1,000 in life insurance, or up to £7,000 in a ‘maxi ISA’ in stocks and shares. |
