Cairns Group A group of countries formed in 1986 to exert pressure to ensure that the liberalization of agricultural trade remained a high priority in the Uruguay Round of trade talks. The members of the Cairns Group are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Fiji, Hungary, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, New Zealand, Thailand and Uruguay. Farm exports of the Cairns Group exceed those of the European Union (EU) and the United States combined. |
