| 释义 | net present value = NPV In discounted cash flows, the difference between the present values of the cash outflows and the present values of the cash inflows. The NPV is the result of the application of discount factors, based on a required rate of return to each year's projected cash flow, both in and out, so that the cash flows are discounted to present values. If NPV is positive, the return will be greater than that required by the capital markets (making the project viable), whereas if the NPV is negative, the return will be less than that required by the capital markets, calling the wisdom of the venture into question. |
