释义 | independent financial adviser = IFA A UK person or firm defined under the Financial Services Act 1986 as an adviser who is not committed to the products ofany one company or organization. Such a person is licensed to operate by one of the Self-Regulating Organizations or Recognized Professional Bodies replaced by the Financial Services Authority in the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. With no loyalties except to the customer, the IFA must offer best advice from the whole market place. Eight categories of IFA exist, grouped into four main areas: advising on investments; arranging and transacting life assurance, pensions, and unit trusts; arranging and transacting other types of investments; and management of investments. All licensed independent financial advisers contribute to a compensation fund for the protection of their customers. |
