单词 | gap |
释义 | gap 1) A measure of interest-rate risk used in banking. It comprises the difference between rate-sensitive assets and rate-sensitive liabilities within a particular range of repricing time periods. If short-term rate-sensitive assets are greater than short-term liabilities, the gap will lead to an asset-sensitive situation in which an interest-rate fall will lower the profitability and value of a bank. See: 2) A sudden rise or fall in the price of a stock or a commodity, such that its opening price on an exchange is outside the range of the previous day's trading. |
