London Metal Exchange = LME A central market for non-ferrous metals, established in London in 1877 to supply a central market for the import of large quantities of metal from abroad. The Exchange deals in copper, lead, zinc, aluminium, tin, and nickel. The official prices of the LME are used by producers and consumers worldwide for their long-term contracts. Dealings on the LME include options and futures contracts. Bargains are guaranteed by the London Clearing House. |
