| 释义 | consortium A combination of two or more businesses formed on a temporary basis. Consortia often involve the setting up of a special-purpose vehicle or a joint venture. They are often set up to quote for a large project, such as a new power station or dam. The companies would then work together, on agreed terms, if they were successful in obtaining the work. The purpose of forming a consortium may be to eliminate competition between the members or to pool skills, not all of which may be available to the individual companies. See also: |
