chamber of commerce In the UK, a voluntary organization, existing in most towns, of commercial, industrial, and trading businessmen who represent their joint interests to local and central government. The London Chamber of Commerce is the largest such organization in the UK; it also fulfils an educational role, running several commercial courses, for which it also sets examinations. Most UK chambers of commerce are affiliated to the Association of British Chambers of Commerce. Compare: chamber of trade. |
