释义 |
zero-coupon bond A type of bond or preference share (zero dividend preference share) that offers no interest payments but which is sold at a discount to its redemption value. Thus, in effect, the interest is paid at maturity in the redemption value of the bond. Investors sometimes prefer zero-coupon bonds as they may confer more favourable tax treatment.
