The income velocity of circulation is the number of times that a particular unit of currency forms part of a person's income in a specified period. It is given by the ratio of the gross national product to the amount of money in circulation. The transactions velocity of circulation is the number of times that a particular unit of currency is spent in a money transaction in a specified period, i.e. the ratio of the total amount of money spent in sales of goods or services to the amount of money in circulation. |
