单词 Stock Exchange of Singapore
释义 Stock Exchange of Singapore

= SES

One of the four tiger markets of South East Asia whose origin goes back to the early years of the century. In its present form it dates from 1973, after Malaysia's decision to sever its currency link with Singapore. It was further modified after the Malaysian government forced companies to delist from the SES in 1990. Its main indicator is the Straits Times Industrial Index, and there is also the less-used Stock Exchange of Singapore Index (SESI). The Overseas China Banking Corporation also calculates an index. A computerized over-the-counter market, the Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) International, was opened in 1990, a year after the main market had changed to electronic trading. A second-tier market has operated since February 1987 as the Stock Exchange of Singapore Dealing and Automated Quotation System (SESDAQ). Regulation is by the central bank and the Monetary Authority of Singapore under the Securities Industry Act 1986, passed after the collapse in 1985 of the Pan-Electric Industries conglomerate.
