释义 | Self-Regulating Organization = SRO One of several organizations set up in the UK under the Financial Services Act 1986 to regulate the activities of investment businesses and to draw up and enforce specific codes of conduct. The SROs recognized by the Securities and Investment Board, to whom they reported, were: the Securities and Futures Authority Ltd (SFA), the Investment Managers Regulatory Organization (IMRO), which regulated any institution offering investment management (including Friendly Societies), and the Personal Investment Authority (PIA), which regulated the activities of investment business carried out mainly with or for the private investor. In 2002 the SROs were replaced by the Financial Services Authority. |
