In the 1970s OPEC was responsible for two major rises in the price of oil. Its influence then waned due to the development of non-OPEC oil fields. Its current members are Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Venezuela. |
