1 a person who buys shares, a particular currency, etc., hoping to sell them soon afterwards at a higher price because they think prices are going to rise rather than fall: Bulls are hoping that the cold weather and the cut in the production of crude oil will push crude prices up. Even the dollar bulls (= people who think the price of the dollar will rise) are now only expecting the dollar to become steady at a lower level.
