authorized share capital

authorized share capital(nominal share capital; nominal capital; registered capital) The maximum amount of share capital that may be issued by a company, as detailed in the company’s memorandum of association. There was formerly a statutory requirement for a company to specify its maximum authorized share capital; this was removed from late 2009 as part of the implementation of the Companies Act 2006.
