NYSE Euronext The global corporation formed in 2006 by the merger of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and the pan-European equities and derivatives market Euronext NV. NYSE had acquired the electronic trading system ArcaEx (seeNYSE Arca) earlier that same year. In December 2012 NYSE Euronext was itself acquired by the electronic commodities market Intercontinental Exchange, which proceeded to sell off the Euronext portion of the company in 2014.
