With the increased use of automated screen trading, floor trading has become much less frequent. See alsopit. floor trader A member of a stock exchange, commodity market, etc., who is permitted to enter the dealing room of these institutions and deal with other traders, brokers, underwriters, etc. Each institution has its own rules of exclusivity, but in most computer dealing has largely or wholly replaced face-to-face floor trading. |
