automated manifest system (AMS)

A computerized system used by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency (CBP) to more efficiently process import cargo invoicesÂ-or manifests. Different types of agencies, such as carriers, port authorities, service bureaus, and container freight stations, can participate in the system.
