In theater we cast various characters to portray different roles. Some roles require more lines of dialogue while other roles serve as support.

Since the recent decline in production had caused the company to downsize it's office staff, many job descriptions were having to be rewritten to combine the roles of two, sometimes three positions.

You need to make sure that everyone knows their roles and focuses on them instead of trying to do to much.
