The total number of stock-keeping units (SKUs) currently on the premises that are already committed to fulfilling a given order (e.g., for production or sales). The quantities allocated are still counted as part of the quantity on hand. If a situation arises in which the allocated items are needed for other purposes, they may be reallocated based on priority.
