Definition

Personality typing test that classifies personalities into four independent (orthogonal) types or scales: (1) Extroversion (E) or Introversion (I), (2) Sensing (S) or intuition (N), (3) Thinking (T) or Feeling (F), and (4) Judging (J) or Perceiving (P). Developed by Isabel Myers-Briggs of the US in association with her mother (who too, like Isabel had no formal training in psychology), based on the personality types theory of the Austrian psychologist Carl Jung (1875-1961).
