释义 | molassesDefinition Heavy and viscous liquid remaining after the removal of sucrose from the mother liquor (concentrated and clarified cane or beet juice) through repeated centrifuging in crystalline sugar manufacturing. The final molasses (called blackstrap) may still contain 35 percent or more of fermentable sugars, and is used in making ethyl alcohol as rum. |
