单词 | mixed signals |
释义 | mixed signalsDefinition A message that is uncertain because multiple interpretations are being conveyed at one time. This can occur when all indications are positive for business growth, yet profits continue to decline. For example, if the U.S. stock markets are doing well, one may conclude the economy is doing well. But if unemployment is at a high rate simultaneously, one could conclude the economy is doing poorly. These two economic indicators are sending mixed signals. |
