单词 | pound weight |
释义 | pound weightDefinition US measure of the weight (mass) of paper, expressed as the weight (in pounds) of a ream (500 sheets) of the standard-cut (base size) of a paper. For 20-pound bond paper, for example, the base size is 17 x 22 inch (43.18 x 55.88 millimeter) from which 4 sheets of letter size (8½ x 11 inch) paper can be cut. Thus, one ream of 20-pound letter size bond paper will weigh 5 pounds. Other countries use metric measure which expresses paper mass in grams per square meter (gsm). |
