substitution slope

A curve usually depicted as a line graph. It shows the relative consumption of two or more goods at various price levels in respect to each other. For example when you want to know at what price level people will begin substituting Good A with Good B to achieve the same satisfaction. The graph is usually put into context by the income level of the buyer. See also marginal rate of substitution.
