interactive planning

Participative planning based on the concept that the activity of planning is more important than the plans it produces, and that all stakeholders (those affected by, or entrusted to carry out, the plan) should, at some stage, have a say in its formulation. The major benefit of interactive planning is that the participants come to 'know' the organization both broadly and deeply, and can understand their roles in achieving its (and their own) objectives. Also, as the makeup of the organization changes over time, plans continue to reflect these changes through the participation of new stakeholders. Interactive planning is an effective 'initiative motivator' because it provides the chance of achieving satisfaction that comes from thinking through and carrying out a course of action.
